Thinking of Selling Your Home?

Selling your home

Are you thinking about selling your home but confused about what to do?

Preparing your home for sale is just as important as showing your home for sale. Here are some tips on how to best prepare your home for sale:

  1. Meet with a highly experienced, proactive active REALTOR who will work in YOUR best interest. If you’re in the Chicago suburbs, let’s talk (708)480-2011. The Glockler Group would be thrilled to help. With integrity, professionalism and stellar communication, we treat transactions like they’re our own and offer an unparalleled 40 years of expertise.

  2. Make a list of to-dos: any sellers choose to meet with us early on in the process when they know are going to list with us, but aren’t quite sure what to do to make a home look it’s best. The Glockler Group goes over how to best showcase your home and what to do to make that happen.

  3. Declutter and depersonalize: those really help to make your home appeal to the largest group of buyers, allows buyers to visualize where their items and furniture can go and usually allows the home to show best in photos.

  4. Make any needed repairs: often times addressing repairs before you put your home on the market, if you are able, can create less of an issue down the road. Keep in mind, a seller does have to disclose any known issues in the home on the property disclosure and to a buyer.

  5. Address the exterior of your property and curb appeal: first impressions matter. Clean the front door area, replace any burnt out lightbulbs, pick up leaves, shovel snow and if the weather permits, adding colorful plants or flowers can help enhance curb appeal.

  6. Paint if time allows: neutral sells. If your home has rooms that are each a different bright or dark color, you might want to consider painting the walls a more neutral color. However, you want to allow enough time for the home to air out, so you are not listing a home for sale that smells like paint.

Spending time to prepare your home to sell - and working with the right real estate team - can help set you up for success.

The Glockler Group has been successfully helping buyers and sellers in the Chicago suburbs for over 40 years!
